BIO
I am a sound designer, producer, arranger, and audio engineer. I started my sound journey by producing music for thirteen years using FL Studio and ProTools. Once I transitioned more into sound design, I started to utilize a wide range of software applications and workstations such as: Reaper, Logic, UVI, GameSynth, Maschine, Unreal Engine, Adobe Audition, and Sound Particles.
Originally, sound design was never my interest. I was mostly geared towards psychoacoustics and auditory neuroscience. The thought of being able to study sonic patterns and their connection to the brain was truly fascinating to me. During my spare time, I would examine published articles and converse with various scientists to increase my knowledge on the subject. This was done even to the point of studying other disciplines of acoustics that could tie in with the subject as well. Since then, I have worked and conversed with companies that have manufactured medically certified equipment (biotech, neurotech, sleep-tech, sound therapy, cardiovascular methods) that incorporated auditory features. Some of the projects consisted of incorporating both musical and sonic elements for mobile applications to auditory devices for wellness usage. Even collaborating with PhD scholars and researchers on organizing future projects.
I transitioned into the gaming industry after conversing with Paul Fletcher (neuroscience professor at the University of Cambridge), Dr.Alvin Can (CEO of Neeuro) and Kelli Dunlap (community director of Take This Inc). Their projects revolved around “Games for Change”. Later, I came to the realization that video games go beyond entertainment. They were simulations that truly impacted lives. Once I became a graduate assistant at Georgia Southern University, I practiced audio implementation on both Wwise and Unreal, used various objects for my foley recordings, utilized modules, synthesis, plugins, and racks for my freelance work, and incorporated scientific insight I had on psycho-acoustics to consult with others. I even constructed a game audio studio on campus so that other students can practice audio implementation, for both gaming and musical practices (meta sounds).
With my acquired skills within sound design and the comprehension of auditory neuroscience, I can provide products, ideas, insight and scientific notion that can expand the creative process when it comes to interactive audio.
